How to Use Rinea Foiled Papers to Paper Piece Beautiful Cards with Jenn DuBell
Hello everyone! Jenn here today sharing how I created some beautiful valentines using Rinea Foiled Papers and dies. For these cards I have made them in a slimline style and used three different paper piecing techniques. Foiled paper is great for die cutting and paper piecing. It not only cuts easily but can be pressed down in paper piecing easily as well using a brayer.
For these cards I have used the following:
Love Foiled Paper Variety Pack
Ebony/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper
I have also used:
Solid cardstock in pale pink, black, and white.
Stamps
Black Ink
Adhesive liquid
Xyron Adhesive
Foam Adhesive Squares
Slimline Die
I have used three techniques of paper piecing for my cards.
Start by cutting with chosen die all colors of foiled papers to be used.
Be sure you keep all positive and negative die cuts. I keep each color separate on a sheet of paper so I can easily locate the pieces.
Once you decide which combinations you like adhere the main background die cut to colored cardstock.
For my cards I have used the following combinations:
1.White cardstock, Ebony Foiled paper background, Ruby foiled paper pieces
2.Pale pink cardstock, Blush Starstruck foiled paper background, Fuschia Starstruck foiled paper pieces.
3.Black cardstock, Ruby Foiled paper background, no pieces.
I have one background die cut left and will use it in the future.
Paper piecing can be done in several ways such as hand gluing each individual piece, using an adhesive sheet when die cutting or adding glue to the paper when cutting. I have tried all three here.
One tip I will gladly share is this....Use a brayer lightly over finished paper pieced cards to ensure all of the intricate die cut is properly laid onto your card.
