Life Is An Adventure by Steph

Life Is An Adventure by Steph | Rinea
After a long winter, Spring is finally starting to appear.  Rather than wait for the beautiful butterflies to appear, I decided to create my own.

I began by painting a wood plaque with gesso, then dry brushing on a layer of terracotta paint.  Once dry, I randomly stamped a grid pattern with Brilliance Coffee Ink.

Using Cherry Lynn Designs Dies, I die cut butterflies and other elements.  The foils cut beautifully and the details are amazing.

This is a project that came together from whatever I had on my craft table.  A piece of gauze was adhered to the left side.  The medallion was die cut from Marigold/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper and the butterflies were die cut from Violet/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper.

One of the butterflies was adhered to a solid base using the reverse side of the Violet/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper and adhered to a chipboard flower and canvas tag which were adhered to the plaque.  The other 2 butterflies were allowed to fly free so I didn't create a base for them.  The bodies of each butterfly were adhered, leaving the wings to fly free.

The medallion was then adhered to the plaque and DREAM was placed on top.  Gears were scattered about and a tag was clipped in the upper corner.
